Thursday the 29th: Chicago, Illinois
It's a good thing we've never been here before, as we'd be living here for sure. Chicago is a wonderful city. Arts and architecture are celebrated thoroughly here. We only had about two days and managed to see a free concert at Grant Park (Millenium Park), visit the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Contemporary Photography and see the huge collection at the Art Institute of Chicago (amazing collection... could have spent a week there). And that's just a fraction of things to do and see.

Below are some architecture images to give you an idea of the area (Sears Tower shown first).

It's astonishing what good design can do for a city. Below are pictures from Grant Park and Millenium Park. See if you can spot us taking a picture of Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate sculpture. Also pictured are the Lurie Garden, Frank Gehry's outdoor pavilion and bridge (we had dinner and watched/listened to the Grant Park Orchestra at the pavilion) and the awesome Crown Fountain by Jaume Plensa (ran night and day with faces and water flow changing every five minutes or so). Last picture is of the Buckingham Fountain.
